If you want to be more involved and gain some more privileges on the site then you'll want to create an account.  This allows you greater access to the tools and features available, including posting a classified ad and tracking your submitted photos and reviews. 

To create an account:

• Click on the “Join/Login” button found at the top of your screen;
• Under “New Members” enter your email and a chosen password;
• You then have access to the features and a confirmation email will be sent to you.

 

After you create your account make sure to view your profile.

• Click "My Profile" at the top of your screen;
• Edit your profile information and upload a profile picture to define yourself;
• Explore the tools available to you in the profile page, like events, classified ads and contact lists.

We publish information about business hours, location, payment methods, reviews, contact information and more.  

To locate the business you're looking for:

• Click the “Business” tab found on the blue navigation bar;
• Search for the business name using the business keyword search field;
• You can browse for related businesses using the business directory.  The business directory organizes business into categories for you, making it easy to browse.

Businesses can create coupons to promote their products, services or establishments.  These coupons can include some great savings or incredible value for your next trip to town.

To find deals with coupons:

• Click on the “Home” tab found on the blue navigation bar;
• On the left side of the screen select "Coupons" to display all the coupons for local businesses.  Print out the coupons from your computer and save in-store!
  
• When you've found a coupon you want to keep, make sure to save it to your list and view it later through "My Lists."

The menu is a very unique feature on the ShopCity sites.  Not only can you find the hours of operation and reviews from your local eateries, but you can view their menus too.  Going to dinner with a picky eater? No problem! With online menus you'll find a restaurant you can always agree on.

To view menus of local restaurants:

• Click on the “Home” tab found on the blue navigation bar;
• Select "Restaurant Menus" from the sidebar menu on the left.
  
• Find an interesting restaurant and click the “Menu” button on the right side of the listing;
• If you view the details of a restaurant - the “Menu” button is located on the left side.
• When you've found a menu you want to keep, make sure to save it to your list and view it later through "My Lists."

From the community section you have the ability to view the local weather, local photos and showtimes, local events and even the locals themselves.  You can also find listings of the local community groups, organizations and non-profit establishments.

After clicking on the “Community” tab found on the blue navigation bar, use the menu on the left side to navigate the community section.  Here you can find:

• Events - Local event listings posted by businesses and individuals.  You can add an event listing, organize the listings into calendar view and even print a monthly calendar of local events.
• Reviews - In the reviews section you'll be able to follow all the new reviews for local businesses.  If your having trouble choosing between two businesses - check out the review section to read what others in your community have to say.  Click "Most Reviewed" to see the most popular businesses locally.
  
• People - Here you'll see a randomized collection of members that you can view or browse alphabetically or by the date in which members joined the site.
• Photos - View the picture of the day and read comments from others.  You can browse all photos, view the previous photos that we're titled “photo of the day,” view all new photos or just the ones with comments from others.  Feel free to upload your own picture!
• Showtimes - Find the movies playing near you, in the theatres near you.  You can view the movies playing at your local theatre, organized by theatre name if there is more than one.
• Weather - View the current local weather conditions and the 5 day forecast.  You can also view the local weather warnings, marine weather, satellite and radar maps with information directly from the government.

Using the lists feature, you can save your favourite business listings, local products and coupons.  This will help you keep an eye on your favourites and remember those that have already caught your eye.

To view your lists:

• Click on the “My Lists” button found at the top of your screen;
• View your favourite products, coupons and businesses.

 

Forgot Your Password? Request It!

Sometimes it's difficult to keep track of all your online account information, like usernames and passwords.  If you've misplaced or forgotten your password then don't worry, it's easy to request.

To request your password:

• Click on the “Join/Login” button found at the top of your screen;
• Select "Forget Your Password?" from the menu on the left;
• Enter the email you used to sign up, and your password will be sent right to your inbox.
